Polyester apparel and polymer-coated hardgoods like mugs,
tumblers, keychains, and photo panels. Colors sublimate into the material for a
smooth, zero hand-feel finish that won’t peel, crack or wash out. Fine details
stay crisp, long-lasting and fade resistant. Sublimation does not print white.
For best results, press onto white or light-colored surfaces and apparel that’s
65%+ polyester. Every transfer arrives press ready.
We guarantee our prints. If your order arrives with a production defect such as banding, ghosting or damage in transit contact support@dtfvirginia.com
and we’ll make it right with a reprint or refund per our policy. Standard
returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery when items are unused and in
original condition.
Settings vary by press and substrate; always test first. For polyester shirts, pre-press 5-10 seconds to remove moisture, lint-roll, place the transfer ink-side down, cover with clean paper and press at 385-400°F for 45-60 seconds with medium pressure. Peel hot and let the garment cool. For polymer-coated hardgoods, follow the blank manufacturer’s guidance; as a starting point, mugs typically press around 360-400°F for 180-210 seconds in a mug press or with an oven wrap. Use clean protective paper above and below each item to prevent ink migration.

Art Upload Recommendations Upload high-res artwork at 300 DPI at final print size for best results. Use PNG or PDF with transparent or white background as needed, and sRGB color profile. Do not mirror your image our system will do that for you. Avoid low-opacity whites since sublimation can’t print white. Those areas will take on the color of the substrate. If you have questions about files or need wholesale pricing, include quantity and size when you submit your art.
